Island in the Sky that one must experience. Built in 1997, it possesses modern facilities with a nice touch of elegant European hospitality. All seven rooms provide a private bath and queen bed (unless otherwise noted). French doors lead to wrap-around decks and breathtaking views.

Named after the owner's mother. Cherry queen sleigh bed, alcove with hideaway double-bed and loveseat. Private deck. 2nd floor. Rate: $129

Named after the owner's son, it features a Cherry queen sleigh bed and armoire. 1st floor. Rate: $119

Master suite with view of the entire Grand Valley and Grand Junction. Reading room, fireplace, private captain's walk, king bed, soaker tub, double shower. All the amenities for a romantic getaway. 2nd floor. Rate: $215

The chair upholstery inspired the name. It features a Millers Crossing queen bed. Rate: $119

Named after the owner's daughter. The queen wrought-iron bed and garden path quilt make one feel close to the outdoors. 1st floor. Rate: $119

Oak rice queen bed, private deck and view of Colorado National Monument with spectacular sunsets. 2nd floor. Rate: $129

• Check-in time is 4:00-6:00 p.m. unless special arrangements have been made with the innkeeper.
